The Rev. Lynn Sanders, Assisting Priest

Meet Our Assisting Priest

Lynn is an active retired Episcopal priest, licensed to officiate in the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina. For the past several years, she has served as a Supply Priest and church consultant in our Diocese.

Following her ordination in 2004, Lynn served at Good Shepherd in Austin, Texas, and then for twelve years at St. Bartholomew’s (“St. Bart’s”) in New York City, most recently as Vicar.

A native of Greenville, SC, Lynn was confirmed in the Episcopal Church here at St. James as a young-ish adult. She earned a B.S. degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Furman University, and MBA from Clemson University. Her career(s) in information technology, business and management consulting took her to New York City in 1987, where she continued as an active Episcopal Church member. Life took an astonishing turn, which led to her earning a M.Div. degree from Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP) in Berkeley, CA, and to ordination in the Diocese of New York. Along the way, Lynn discovered, to her surprise and delight, how much she loved the holy, many-faceted work of pastoring a congregation.

Since moving back to Greenville in 2020, Lynn has made her church home at St. James, worshiping here whenever she is not serving at other churches in the Diocese. She considers it a delight and privilege to be able to help out during Kellan’s family leave.
