For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

Membership at St. James begins with baptism. Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's Body the Church. The bond which God establishes in baptism is indissoluble. If you have never been baptized and would like to be a member of St. James, you must first be baptized. To learn more about baptism, please click below.

Learn about Baptism at St. James

If you were baptized in the Episcopal Church or another Christian denomination, we consider you already members of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. The Episcopal Church believes in one baptism and does not rebaptize except in cases where the original baptism lacks the trinitarian formula or failure of intention such as a LDS baptism.

If you have never been a member of an Episcopal Church and were baptized in another Christian denomination, all we need to include you as a member of St. James is the date and place you were baptized. When you have this information, please complete the request below to register your baptism and become a member of St. James.
