Who We Are
The people of St. James are an incredibly diverse and growing group. We come from all walks of life. Some of us are single, others are partnered or married, and we welcome traditional, non-traditional, and interfaith families equally in our congregation.
Some of us were raised in the Episcopal Church but most of us were raised in another faith tradition: Roman Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, and many others. However, we have all come to call St. James home and each other family. We welcome all who come seeking a deeper knowledge of God just as we were once welcomed. Questions are encouraged as we explore what we believe and why we believe it in community. While we have a rich theological diversity and various perspectives on many issues, we come together as one family gathered around one table: to be and to receive the Body of Christ.
We are not only hearers of the Word, we are doers of the Word! Outreach is woven into the very fabric of St. James. Whether it's Feed Thy Neighbor, GAIHN, the St. James Giving Tree, the Christmas Angel Tree, Saturday Lunches, the annual School Supply and Coat Drive, SouperBowl Sunday, Camp Bob, Stop Hunger Now, the Frazee Dream Center, or any number of other ministry opportunities, St. James parishioners are very active in the community at large - living into Christ's commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Won't you join us? There's always room at our table.
