Join the St. James Daughters of the King for a quiet day of reflection on the sayings of the Desert Mothers, those women who left everything behind for a life focused on God. We will listen to them, pray with them, and consider how we can benefit from their words. Come and hear how they advise us to love God, love our neighbor, and love ourselves.

![]() Janet Atkins has served at St. James for the past seventeen years as a teacher, Eucharistic minister, and spiritual director. She is very interested in the spirituality of the Desert Mothers and of the Medieval women mystics. She enjoys reading, writing, photography, and cooking. Janet is a Companion with The Northumbria Community, and she is very active in the Kairos Prison Ministry. She is currently a postulant for holy orders to the Sacred Order of Deacons in the Diocese of Upper South Carolina.
