6:30 Celtic Evening Eucharist
7:15 Lenten Program
Our Lenten Book study will be based on “Lent with Evelyn Underhill.” This wonderful, little book is a collection of daily readings taken from the extensive writings of Evelyn Underhill. Each Wednesday evening we will gather and discuss our thoughts and feelings about the previous week’s readings. I hope you will join us for this contemplative and spiritual Lenten program.
From the back blurb of the book: “Evelyn Underhill, one of the outstanding modern writers on the interior life, wrote from the perspective of living in two worlds: the natural and the supernatural. She advocated a distinctive type of mysticism that emphasized a sense of community rather than a focus on the individual. During her lifetime and since her death in 1941, many have found in her devotional writings the guidance they have been seeking as they strive to deepen their understanding of the inner life in the Christian mystical tradition.”
